For ten years, bringing people and art together is an everyday
business for the Birchwood Art Gallery. At its heart are two owners
who have garnered the gallery's excellent reputation for customer

This is Canada's second martyr's schrine. The beautiful
chapel contains the relics (mortal remains) of the Ukrainian Catholic
Martyr, Blessed Vasyl Velychkovsky. Beautified by Pope John
Paul II, Blessed Vasyl - a Ukrainian Catholic -suffered severe
torture during the soviet regime and died in Winnipeg in 1973.
A museum with artifacts and video depicts the martyr's life story.
Hours are Tues. - Fri. 10:00am - 5:00pm / Sat. 10:00am - 1:00pm.

The largest collection of marine reptile fossils in Canada including
Bruce our prize mosasaur specimen at 13 metres long (43 feet).
The Bruce gallery space has been refurbished with spectacular
artwork and special sound effects which really make it a little
scary!
During the summer season from May to September we run paleo tours
and dig site programs on our fossils fields along the Manitoba
Escarpment near Morden. Notable new finds are made year after
year and we are opening up our new property of 109 acres this
summer 2007 for the first time to great excitement. The thrill
of being around when a new find is being excavated is quite an
experience.
Please note that travel time from Winnipeg (perimeter and Highway
#3) is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Marvel at the luxurious furnishings and lovely stained galss windowd
that make this 1895 Queen Anne Revivial stlye home a beautiful
and fascinating lace to visit. The former home of Sir Hugh John
Macdonald (a permier of Manitoba), Dalnavert is a a National Historic
Site. The new Visitor's Centre - a "green building"
opened in May 2005 - features a well-appointed gift shop.

FIRE FIGHTERS MUSEUM OF WINNIPEG

Among the oldest fire stations in Canada, this beautifully maintained
firehall - built in 1903 - features stained glass windows and
ornate tin ceiling. As a tribute to the heroism of fire
fighters, the museum displays hand and horse drawn, steam and
early motorized fire apparatus, artifacts, photographs and records
dating back to the 1880s.

take you back to the period of the Voyageurs and the fur traders.
Fort Gibraltar offers historic interpretation, banquet options,

located inside the city. Set aside in 1968, this preserve is home

The Manitoba Museum is the province's largest attraction, hosting
more than 300,000 visitors annually. You can explore a vivid
portrayal of Manitoba's rich and colorful history through nine
galleries that total approximately 68,000 square feet (the size
of 4 football fields) of exciting exploration. All regions
of MAnitoba are represented in the galleries, including the Grasslands,
the Boreal Forest and the Arctic/Sub-Arctic. Discover the
Museum's recent additions: the Hudson Bay Company Collections
Gallery, which is the Parklands/Mixed Woods Gallery, which is

The Museum is located in the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral.

of Ukrainian folk arts and crafts, a library and gift shop.
